Redevelopment of the existing heritage listed “Miller Anderson” department store building in Hindley Street, including the construction of an additional level, to provide a total of 5 upper levels of accommodation comprising a total of 61 apartments, over the existing ground floor retail tenancies. The existing basement was converted to secure carpark space.
The existing building façade held significant heritage value, forming part of South Australia’s oldest department store built in the 1920’s. The developer ECON Property Group has successfully restored the heritage significance of the building whilst adding an additional floor level.
The building was fitted out with all new building services installations except for the existing ground floor tenancies which continued to trade during the redevelopment.
