Schomburgk Pavillion and Museum of Economic Botany for the Adelaide Botanic Gardens

increase decrease

Lucid were engaged in the redevelopment of the historically significant Museum of Economic Botany and construction of the iconic "Schomburgk Pavillion" which is located directly to its rear.

Lucid developed innovative electrical and mechanical services concepts which enabled the Museum to be provided with air conditioning, feature and display lighting and code compliant electrical and fire services whilst minimising any visible plant or equipment.

The underfloor space was utilized for outside air ductwork, refrigerant pipework and cable reticulation whilst a ventilated basement was constructed under the Schomburgk Pavilion to conceal switchboards, rainwater tanks and pumps and mechanical plant including a boiler to serve the adjacent Amazon Waterlily Pavilion.
