| The existing ground and first level spaces were reconstructed into a 300m², 600mm raised floor Data Centre space, an air lock, electrical equipment and plant rooms and adjacent office spaces.
Engineering services provisions for 180kW of communications equipment heat load were provided in a modular approach to facilitate the future expansion of equipment as required by the University.
The new Data Centre facility was designed in accordance with Telecommunications Industry Standard TIA/EIA-642 ‘Tier 2’ standard requirements, including ‘N+1’ redundancy for air conditioning and Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, stand by generator and bulk fuel storage tank, gas suppression and dual power supplies for communications equipment.
Lucid worked with the University from the project’s Concept Design Stage to Commissioning and handover of services and systems.
JPE Architects, CPR Consulting Engineers and Rider Levett Bucknall provided professional services for the project. |
